Bitcoin.org Sponsorship Wins What I didn’t realize is that I would still be investing significant time and energy on this project one year later! Keeping up with this emerging ecosystem is thrilling and a beautiful thing to see and be part of.
As you may have heard back in March, the foundation awarded bitcoin.org the Q1 sponsorship. As part of that sponsorship, we agreed to provide a quarterly update on some of the wins thanks to the support. For the first time, this provided us an interesting opportunity to look behind us and see all that we’ve collectively accomplished. And we’re happy to share this news with you!
In the last 3 months, bitcoin.org has been able to achieve some very important goals — thanks to the sponsorship and help of new active contributors!

The most notable achievements are the new Developer Documentation, which seemed to be a long time expected change, increasing the number of translations on bitcoin.org, and improving the quality of the previous translations. The foundation’s sponsorship was particularly useful with the latter as it enabled us to hire professional freelance translators as well as support other expenses like hosting and attributing some bounty for the work of the most active contributors.
Bitcoin.org is now available in 21 languages, up from 14, 12 of which include the complete FAQ – and soon much more. As a French speaker myself, I understand very well how much of a difference translations make as part of increasing Bitcoin’s global accessibility.
Yet, there are still a number of great goals on our “To Do” list! If you’d like to help working on improving bitcoin.org, please join the project and start opening pull requests on GitHub.
A huge thanks to all the people who contributed their time on this project and to the foundation for their financial support.
